Rising Third Grader?

What is this?  I have a rising third grader!

Remember this kinder?

I remember feeling so nervous about the primary journey.

I am his mother and my instincts were correct about many things.
(I never miss the opportunity to point that out.)

God gave us the tools to deal with hard moments.

We are ready for intermediate school! yipeee.
God will give us the tools, he will mold my Connor, I have to let it happen.

We have learned as a family through YOU Connor.
Most important, we have learned to value the things not always measured by the outside world.

Kind, Loving, and Hardworking
Teachers Hand Picked by God

Connor,
You are an amazing and creative fellow.

You have set up a spa, tattoo shop, book store, and zoo in our bathroom.
You have been a hunter, a zoologist, a wrestler, a snack wrangler, and a race car driver in our basement.
You have been Michael Jackson, Burt Meyers, and the President in our backyard.
You pull out clothing, crayons, create signs, and anything else you can find to bring your imagination to life.

You are honest, inquisitive, kind, and we never know what you will say next!

Most of all, you remain the best big brother.
You are always aware of Carlee, and sometimes I have to remind you that you are the brother and not the parent.

We are Blessed daily by you Mr. Connor.

A Growing Carlee Q

Oh my Carlee Q,
(you are my curly q fry)

You are growing up so fast.
With your brother I was just catching my breath, and learning how it all works.
With you, I want to freeze time because I see how fast it all happens.

You and your brother are so different in demeanor and age,
yet the best of buds.

Connor is the first person that you ask for when you wake up in the morning!

You love bananas, cookies, pancakes, and green beans.
You love the outdoors, Minnie Mouse, and 'Read Books'.
You are talking more.
You are silly more.

We had you a princess potty with all the bells and whistles when you were ready to potty.
Of course,
you decided to potty train yourself by randomly opening the door and using the big potty.  You went four times in one day!
(the secret= naked 100% of the time).

Carlee you do it your way, that is for sure!

Your brother made us parents,
but you have made us better parents.

We love you so Carlee!

My First (and Last) Tutorial Youtube Video

 I have nearly abandoned television.
When I don't fall asleep as soon as my head hits the pillow or I don't have a book, I love to get on YOUTUBE!
You can find out 'how to' cook, clean, sew, sing a song, make a craft, etc. etc. etc.

I decided to make my very own tutorial video on (drum roll please)....  Conturing Makeup.
I discovered this makeup technique on YouTube.
Contouring makeup changes the shape of your face using light and dark contrasts.
The shading is to highlight your strong points.

Examples:

I couldn't wait to try it.
Of course, like all things once I got started it was a LOT HARDER than it looked.

Needless to say- this may be my last YouTube Tutorial.

(My favorite moments have to be when Darren talks about wanting Connor's leftover hair from his haircut
& when Carlee mocks my alphabet Aa- 'aya', very southern. )

No one will accuse us of being overly classy.

The completed affect:
Not quite as dramatic, but ok for an amateur.
I like glam and glitter, but in real life I like to keep it easy.

The best beauty secret:
a genuine smile!
I hope I made you smile with my 'how to' video!

I Got 99 Problems....

I have a lot of pictures to post, and a lot of stories to tell,
but it's been....
Busy. Busy. Busy.

Closing a school year is as hard as starting a school year.
Lots, and lots, and lots of changes ahead.

Sometimes you just have to stop and enjoy a Sunday afternoon ice cream cone!

Taste Kinda' Good

I Scream for Ice Cream

Hey Man, I can stop anytime I want.....
I just need one more ice cream cone.

Was mom trying a new hairstyle or what?  I told her this wasn't working.

The Selfie Gone Wrong

It tastes better when you let it melt while you wear mom's flip flops....

...and when you eat it upside down.

(that isn't coming out of my outfit is it?)

I got 99 problems but my ice cream ain't one.
